Meet our legacy makers
Meet the inspiring individuals behind Saskatchewan Polytechnic’s legacy giving community. Our Legacy Makers are dedicated supporters who have chosen to create a lasting impact through planned gifts, helping shape the future of education and empowering generations of students to succeed.
Margaret and James Scott leave behind a lasting legacy
Margaret and James Scott are proud legacy donors whose generosity reflects a deep commitment to education and student success. Through their thoughtful gift, they are helping create lasting opportunities for future Saskatchewan Polytechnic learners, ensuring their impact will be felt for generations to come.
Gord Mertler continues family legacy with a planned gift
Gord Mertler is proudly continuing his family’s legacy of supporting carpentry students at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. Inspired by his parents, Ann and George Mertler—whose generosity established a bursary to help learners in need—Gord has chosen to extend their impact through a planned gift. Together, their commitment honours George’s mentorship and dedication to the trades while creating life-changing opportunities for students for generations to come.
Karl Nelson giving back to future generations
After returning to school at age 40, Karl Nelson found encouragement and support at Saskatchewan Polytechnic that made his journey possible. Grateful for that experience, Karl has chosen to give back by leaving a portion of his estate to support future program development—ensuring generations of learners benefit from the same opportunities that shaped his path.
